Standing up for what's right

This November, the State of AZ will be voting on Proposition 102. This is an important proposition that will decide if the government is allowed to teach my children about what marriage and family is. Please watch the following videos and be sure to register and vote at the upcoming election!

3 short videos that show what has happened and what can happen if marriage isn't protected.

I really liked that last one! It gave me goosebumps. I think to many people forget just how much we have and all the amazing, honorable, truly humble men that made it all possible. I think modern politicians have lost sight of what really matters. The other ones were a little upsetting. For more than one reason...One, I really don't think that any conversation of love or romance is OK in a kindergarten class. What happened to The Hungry Caterpillar?!?! Where the heck did Dr. Seuss run off to?...And then the world wonders why there are so many teen pregnancies. Two, I have seen books in the LDS bookstore in regards to "I'm having these strange feelings and don't know what to do". So, I don't really have a set view on whether I think it's always a choice. I don't see why it has to be a law for your best friend to be able to be in the hospital with you. What if that's all you've got? Whether it be your partner or just a friend. I think so many are willing to OK that law because some things about it do seem unfair. I personally believe the marriage that God intended is between a man and a woman. We are here to multiply and replenish the earth and that is only possible between a man and a woman. It doesn't necessarily make someone a bad person because they believe otherwise. Some of the nicest, most wonderful people I have been blessed to know fall into that category. I'm not saying anyone is wrong. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I definitely don't think this is something a child needs to be concerning themselves with. I am suggesting that we should all be a little more understanding. We are all children of God. We are brothers and sisters. Every person, no matter their choices, should know that they are loved and accepted. Like, that preacher said, we don't have to agree with what choices our friends and loved one are making, but we do need to love them. OK, I'm off my soap box now! I love your blog!! Where did you get the layout?
